Policy on Breast Milk

BREASTFEEDING- Bright Star supports breastfeeding.   Breastfeeding has been shown to be the best form of infant nutrition, providing a multitude of health benefits to both infant and mother. If a caretaker is in need to breastfeed or express, a quiet space will be available to them.  Please go into the office and speak to the director to make arrangements. Bright Star will serve pumped breast milk to a child with parent written directions. Mother’s must supply the  storage container for the breast milk with date and full name(first and last name) labeled on the container. Breast milk will be stored in our refrigerator. Information on breastfeeding can be found on www.womenshealth.gov, Storage Guidelines for Human Milk:www.cdc.gov/breastfeeding/
